Salmon Spawn Restoration

Help the Pacific Salmon Foundation reverse the decline of salmon populations by funding volunteer community steward groups undertaking salmon conservation projects to rehabilitate local salmon stocks and their habitats.

Pacific salmon encounter myriad challenges during their unique lifecycles involving seasonal migrations through both freshwater and marine environments. Factors negatively impacting Pacific salmon include: climate change, habitat degradation, land and water pressures, pollution and major events such as the landslide at Big Bar along the Fraser River.

About half of Pacific salmon populations are in some state of decline. But through a shared vision, major funding, communication, and coordinated action, Pacific salmon can recover.

That’s why our team at the Pacific Salmon Foundation is working on habitat restoration and enhancement projects throughout B.C.

Extreme rain events, wild fires, warming rivers, streams, and estuaries with low water levels are anticipated to continue in the years ahead. These environmental conditions are very bad for salmon.

The good news is that with your help, we can act now to help salmon adapt.
