We are a mobile app with the sole purpose of connecting businesses, people, and environmental organizations as a community to foster donation toward environmental restoration and conservation initiatives. Our mission is to empower the planet to make positive environmental impact through effortless everyday commerce.
While we partner with various non-profit and not-for-profit environmental enterprises, we ourselves are not registered under either category. Our primary mission is promoting and ensuring environmental restoration efforts. Since we provide a commercial service as an online business hub we have the ability to operate for profit, and the flexibility to reinvest our profit toward continued and emerging Halona Project growth areas that help us fulfill our primary mission.

Halona is operating with a two thirds / one third donation model. Two thirds of all funds raised through the Halona app go directly to our partnered environmental organizations to complete measurable restoration projects.

One third of funds raised will be retained by Halona for operating costs and reinvestment in future development growth plans.

One goal of Halona Project is for the Halona community to establish a leading stewardship role in the creation of environmental projects. A secure source of capital may be required in order to crowdsource and fund these grassroots projects from within the Halona Project ecosystem.

We like to choose projects that are meaningful to us for the effects they have on generating healthy environments and for the people behind them who often care more about their role in the environment first before themselves.

While it is not not necessary for our partner projects to be non-profit, most of them are. All of the projects we are partnered with are environmentally focused and have measurable verifiable impact for 100% transparency, and track and traceability for display within the app.

Any donations to our partnered organisations which operate with non and not-for-profit status are tax deductible to the fullest extent of applicable laws. Halona Project will provide donation receipts whenever eligible for all participating businesses.

Halona Project is still in the early stages of development. While we are not seeking certified b corporation status, we do admit our early priorities and values as a company are focused on transparency and creating tangible real-world value over speculative currency-based value.

The Halona Project model encourages participating businesses to donate a customizable amount, via multiple donation mechanics for any or every transaction, toward any or all of our partnered environmental organizations through the Halona Project app. We then credit that business’ Halona profile with the corresponding impact point metrics. Through using the Halona app the business is able to share those impact points with the business, client, or individual who generated the transaction. The recipient of those shared impact points may accept them or redistribute the donation for impact points from any of the other partnered organizations of their preference within the Halona app. The impact from the donation will then be added to the profiles of all who shared in the creation of those impact points. Halona Project will then donate the funds to the appropriate organization and verify that the funding goes directly to the specific projects. Anyone in the app may also donate individually or on behalf of another and have the corresponding impact points awarded to the necessary profile.

Impact transparency is one of our core guiding principles. Because everything in Halona is measurable it allows you to see directly what impact your participation within the project and what impact the Halona Project in general has on the planet. Not only do you get live impact updates as you engage with partnered businesses locally or donate individually, we will also have quarterly and yearly reporting updates from our partnered projects globally to give a layered community based perspective of our collective impact.
Always ask your parents first, but we encourage anyone with the desire to contribute to the wellbeing of the world to use Halona Project’s app.
Halona Project is the dream child of Dallas Kalman, established in 2021 by a small and upstart group out of British Columbia, Canada, with a growing team of developers, designers, and advocates for Mother Nature. Together we’re united by our goal to see the world take personal ownership of environmental stewardship and continue coaxing the positive externalities of environmental preservation and restoration into the fundamentals of regular old commerce.
In the Iroquois languages, Halona refers to one “of happy fortune.” By fostering the reemergent values of thankful land stewardship, Halona Project hopes to build communities with the power to share and live in an abundance of happy fortune.
